Hello and welcome to the new Failsworth Blues Official Supporters Club website! This is the only site for information about Failsworth Manchester City fans.

Last July at the AGM, the membership voted for a change of committee and the following people were voted in. The new committee is as follows:

    President: Bernard Halford
    Chairman: Alan Tapper
    Vice Chairman: Terry Pickup
    Secretary: Stan Openshaw
    Social Secretary: Maxine Ball
    Away Trip Organizer: Darren Smith

When this committee took over, the membership stood at 56. The current membership is 176. This is a remarkable achievement in just 8 months which shows the commitment of the present committee to the growth of the OSC of Manchester City in Failsworth. We have been helped tremendously by the landlord of the Willow Tavern, Neil Molloy and his wife Sarah, who have provided various raffle items and refreshments when we have held several fund-raising events at his pub.

To date we have held a question and answer night on 15th September 2008 which was attended by Paul Aldridge who is the chief operating officer at Manchester City. The event was hosted by Gary Owen, the Manchester City legend. The evening was a huge success and the attendance was excellent.

On the 7th December we held a Christmas party for the kids, this was attended by Moonbeam and Father Christmas also put in an appearance with a gift for everyone. There was face painting, a clown and food for all the kids provided by Neil and Sarah, a raffle and a tombola stall. There were 56 kids in attendance all with parents and in some cases grandparents so the whole event was very well attended and a successful afternoon.

There was another Q and A event in February featuring the City legends Mike Summerbee and Tommy Booth. These two had some fantastic stories to tell and a well attended membership had a very memorable evening. There was a raffle and refreshments provided by Neil and Sarah.

The next event is on the 3rd of May and is a race day, this will take place at the Willow Tavern between 2pm and 5pm,members and non-members are welcome and all children are welcome. These are often very exciting days.

As you can see a lot of hard work has gone into organising these events and the hard working committee has worked unceasingly to make these successful.

The next AGM is in July and at that point we can look back on a hugely successful first year and look forward to another successful year ahead.

    Up The Blues!
