Yesterday at 2 30pm Ken Barnes passed away.Ken was associated with the club for over 40 years as a player, assistant manager and chief scout.
Ken was an integral part of the famous “Revie plan” that swept the blues to successive cup finals in 1955 (lost to Newcastle 3 1
and in 1956 when they beat Birmingham 3 1.
Christened “the best uncapped wing half in England by no less a player than Denis Law who was befriended by Ken when he arrived at City from Huddersfield.I would like on behalf of all Failsworthblues to extend our sincere condolences to Kens family
and to say to true blue legend R.I.P. Ken
